    Apple Gay friendly Company

Apple love the gays and the gays love Apple. Like this is news to us, really though. It took a survey though for this 'news' to hit the headlines. Apple stormed home with 39% of respondents, behind Bravo which had a 52% love lead.

The companies not so gay friendly according to the survey were: WalMart, Dunkin Donuts, Cracker Barrel, and Samsung. Almost 70% of those surveyed said they were more likely to purchase from a company they felt was gay friendly than one that wasn't. Guess as far as gadget geeks go Samsung won't be selling many electrical goods to queers, since they came in with 4% a smidge in front of Dunkin Donuts and Cracker Barrel.

    ModBook - The Mac Tablet

Okay let’s start by saying this would be utterly useless to me personally, I’m not an artist, a graphic designer or anything of that ilk, but I want one. Yes like someone with motion sickness wishing to own a tilta-a-whirl, the ModBook has that affect on me. Just look at it, it’s beautiful.

The Axiotron ModBook is essentially a modified MacBook in tablet form with a pen based user interface. You can draw directly onto the screen, making it perfect for those artistes of which I am not. It’s also hardy, made of magnesium alloy. The ModBook also features inbuilt GPS, CD/DVD Burner and inbuilt iSight camera.

You can check it out in full at the Axiotron website. Enjoy.

    The Hanging Printer

If you love your gadgets (and who doesn’t) and like to have them take pride of place on your desk, there comes a point where you realize that your desk is just getting too small for your cool collection of gizmos. Ultimately, the first to be placed under your desk is normally your printer, until now that is.

Clever designers Jin Hee Kim, Hyung II Kim and Woo Seok Park have realized people want things that look cool and serve a purpose too and they’ve designed the first Hanging Printer. Yes, you can now hang your printer off your desk with all the bulky parts underneath. Only the paper feed and the print head are visible as they actually sit on the desk, making it easy to access when you need it.

Finally, a printer that doesn’t add to your cluttered desktop but is still easily reachable and gracefully manages all the tasks you need it to. What self-respected gadget grrl wouldn’t want one of these aesthetically pleasing printers on her desk?

ASUS Eee PC Geek Girl Review

For those not in the know, the ASUS Eee PC is a tiny laptop or ‘subnotebook’ that runs a Linux OS. I picked one of these up a few nights ago and have been having fun with it since. It’s not something you’re going to use if you need a lot of power, but its setup is great for people who want a sort of cross between a laptop and palm pilot / organizer.

I’ll include some images after the jump to give you some idea of overall size and of course some specification info. Overall I’m really impressed with the little gizmo, there’s only really a few little niggles that have come to the fore, still if you’re looking for an ultra portable, ultra cheap alternative to a non gaming laptop, the ASUS Eee PC might just be for you…..

    Giant iPod headphone speakers

Got a friend who is like 50 feet tall? If you do these giant iPod speakers are really neat. Actually they’re kind of cool even if you don’t have a 50 foot tall friend that might find them of use. The speakers look just like original iPod headphones, only these babies sit on your desk. They’ll be available from Fred & Friends, though there’s no pricing or arrival date listed at the moment.

The giant iPod headphone speakers are called the 500XL, apparently due to the fact they’re said to be 500 times the size of the originals. We award anyone who purchases these 500 times the geek points and up their armor class rating by a good few points, just for pure geek cool factor.

"If You Lick it You Own it"

There's something about Meredith Viera that is just so... yummy. Sure we know she's not a lesbian, but she's a smart older lady, what's not to like. Here Meredith shows us geek grrls a bit of her nerdy side when she gets all excited about the new MacBook Air. Sure it's really a boring little news item about the new slimline computer, but if you're a Mac fan and a Meredith fan, you're going to LOVE this. Enjoy...
