Lesbians in Science-Fiction books

Ever wondered what sci-fi books you needed to be checking out to get a little dose of lesbian storyline? The folks at io9 have taken the hard work out of sourcing such Sapphic literature with there article Greet Your New Lesbian Overlords.

Turns out there are quite a few books dedicated to the way of the dyke, including the usual man ends up on lesbian planet, all lesbians want him deal. (yawn)

That ridiculous cliché aside there are some other interesting books listed, with intriguing storylines that don’t seem to encompass the every male fantasy ‘lesbians really want a guy’ thing. Authors include Nicola Griffith, a lesbian author who has one quite a few awards and openly lesbian and political activist Sally Miller Gearhart.
