    Lesbian Anime - Writer wanted

It seems Anime and Manga doesn't have a problem with lesbian love, at least that's what much of the artwork would tend to suggest. I'm not a huge anime fan, but I do find it fairly fascinating how sexual some of the artwork can be.

Some anime comes across as creepy to me because many of the characters look like kids, but the openness with which anime culture seems to express sexuality can only really be appreciated.

We're looking for an anime geek to help us write a piece on lesbian characters in anime, if this sounds like you drop us a line.
Here a vid to keep you busy.

Britney Spears - Anime style in ice

Anime fans are either going to love or despise Britney Spears new video 'Break the Ice'. Britney becomes all Japanimated and takes on the role of an ass kicking anime styled female assassin type.

Perhaps Britney had little to do with it. Perhaps the director thought this was better than dealing with a flesh and blood Spears. Whatever the case may be, it got me to thinking that ole Britters probably wishes she could kick it Cynthia Rothrock style like she does in the vid, I know I'd volunteer to hold K-Fed in place whilst she showed him the sharp end of her boot.

    Here's the video.

    Appleseed Ex Machina

I really enjoyed the first Appleseed movie, with its cool female [babydyke looking] protagonist Deunan Knute and her cyborg partner Briareos. The sequel by Shinji Aramaki is released on DVD March 11 and is looking pretty cool, well other than the 'love story' elements they've tried to squeeze in with a new handsome lead, rather than leaving the weird but deep relationship between Deunan and Briareos.

Here's a trailer of the sequel for those that may be interested, also for gamers with a PS3 it's coming out on Blu-Ray as well.

Red Princess Blues: Book of Violence

Anime fans heads up, this one is looking pretty sweet. Red Princess Blues Animated: Book of Violence is a short film prequel by Alex Ferrari and Numb Robot Animation Studios. The story involves a 12 year old girl looking for her father and her discovery of the ‘Book of Violence’.

The animated short is presently also being made into a live action feature film. The trailer doesn’t give much away, but it is very nice and features the sultry voice of TV star Paula Garces (of The Shield and Law and Order: SVU). If you’re a fan of Anime stylings, Red Princess Blues: Book of Violence is bound to appease your thirst for quality.

The short is presently making doing the festival circuit, so keep an eye out for it. You can check out the official site HERE.
