
Science Fiction fans are probably already aware of the issue of gay characters in their favorite series and SyFy has paid the price for lack of inclusion. The channel received an fail rating in GLAAD's recent Network Responsibility Index for their depiction of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) characters. Unlike other failing channels however, SyFy has come forward and said they are disappointed with the rating and are working on the issue.

If you're not up on your trending topics, your tweets and your retweets, you're not embracing the social network phenomenon that is Twitter. Starting off as yet another social networking site, the appeal of only being able to write 140 characters to express yourself to strangers may seem lost on most. Appearing to be simply another self-centered egotistical spot on the web to whine/moan and bitch about your day to day life, Twitter has grown to become a tour-de-force in the TV realm.

Fans of Eureka will know Deputy Jo Lupo, the kick ass deputy sheriff of quirky town Eureka (in the show Eureka). Deputy Lupo is played by Erica Cerra, a woman with plent of lesbian and geek cred, given she played Alice Pieszecki's Nosferatu love interest in The L Word (Uta Refson) and Maya in Battlestar Galactica.
