The Middleman geek TV

Wendy Watson is a geek. She's the female lead in The Middleman, a show by ABC Family that is sort of like a weird cross between Doctor Who and B. J. Fletcher: Private Eye. Wendy Watson is played by Natalie Morales, who is sort of like a cross between Rosario Dawson and Spencer from South of Nowhere.
Whether you'll like The Middleman is a good question, it's very camp, covered in cheese and has cheap special effects. If you like Doctor Who and the wit of something like 30 Rock or Buffy, you might want to give The Middleman a shot.

Ha! Love your description of Natalie Morales. I have to say I was willing to watch after the first publicity photos showed up with her in that old-fashioned suit.
I'm a sucker for a girl in a tie.
And I think you're right that this will be a love-it-or-hate-it show, but then again that's the definition of a cult fave.
Other geeky things about this show: it's based on a comic book, and both the book and the show were created by Javier Grillo-Marxuach, of LOST, JAKE 2.0, THE PRETENDER, and SEAQUEST: DSV writing fame, among others.
I watched it, and I think it rocks pretty hard. I like my sci-fi geekery with a healthy dose of humor.

Jeez, I just spent 20 minutes playing around with the middleman character costume generator on the official disney site linked to in the article. I can't believe I missed the first 3 episodes. This looks hella fun.

I've been watching this as well and think it's great fun. Lots of good laugh-out-loud moments.

I spent my evening yesterday watching the first three episodes via itunes, and I am hooked. The show is like a 3way between "Gilmore Girls" and 60's classics "Batman" and "Get Smart". The dialogue and deadpan delivery is hilarious. Wendy Watson definitely has some attitude. Even when wearing ape poo.

I've started watching this and I'm not quite sure if I'm into it or not. I didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised by the first episode purely because it was so different. I've kept watching but the novelty is beginning to wear off a litte, though I still intend to follow it at this point. I'm certainly not going to start hating it though. If it does drop off my viewing list I'd be quite happy to hear it doing well.
