Fans of Colonel Samantha Carter might be interested to learn that Sanctuary (a show she made mid Stargate SG1 / Atlantis) has been picked up by the Sci Fi Channel. Sanctuary is the first direct to web TV series to be shown on a major cable channel. Sci Fi has ordered 13 episodes of the series which will incorporate and expand the webisodes.
Tapping plays Dr. Helen Magnus, a cryptozoologist running a sanctuary to protect and study mutants. Needless to say it’s set in a dystopian future and looks more Torchwood than Stargate. You can check out Amanda Tapping talking about Sanctuary below and the official website HERE.
